Drinking Water Treatment

Integrated solutions for removing contaminants to produce pure drinking water free from chemicals, Nitrate, Fluoride and other harmful organic and inorganic materials, available in many forms from portable packages to permanent plants.

It’s been on my wish list to find a partner who designs, engineers and manufactures small, “mobile” water and wastewater treatment systems and all the various bits and bobbles required to make water safe to drink or wastewater safe to discharge to open waterways.

There are a lot of First Nation and small communities that are facing real challenges with increasingly stringent lagoon discharge limits in a world where dredging projects that cost the same as a home in Vancouver or Toronto.

At the same time, many industries are encouraged or mandated by municipal sanitary regulations to pre-treat their process wastewater before discharging it to city sewer systems or else pay very handsomely if they fail to meet rapidly shrinking maximum limits.

In a country with an admitted shortfall of affordable housing, many developers have historically been forced to delay projects simply because the city doesn’t have a sewer trunk line close enough to the collection system installed by the developer.  Now they don’t have to wait and instead have the option of treating an entire neighbourhood’s effluent “on the spot” and, assuming there’s an open waterway nearby, discharge the treated wastewater, which is equal, or better in quality to the bigger brother version of themselves.

Those are just headlines – and are more than enough as to my Big Why I wanted these options for my client base.

That said, after spending time in the aslan office in Burlington, Ontario, where 100% of the design, engineering and manufacturing takes place, it’s the people at aslan who make this happen that are truly the “Big Why”!  I’ve seen good and great working environments over the years – aslan’s working environment is EXCEPTIONAL!  So much so, that the company was established in the early 90’s and has grown immensely during that time – all without any active outgoing commercial strategy – as in NO dedicated outside salespeople singing the praises of the incredibly smart people that solve the technical challenges every single day.  I’ve never seen anything like it, and it is one of the many reasons I’m excited to work with them!

aslan’s people need to have their praises sung, and the world at large deserves to be given the opportunity to work with some of the most truly dedicated and lovely people I have had the good fortune of crossing paths.
